Conference on "Policy and Sustainability of Local Language Computing in

  Developing Asia" in conjunction with "Localization of Mobile Platform"

Overview

The PAN Localization project’s mission has been to address the challenge of development and dissemination of multilingual computing, focusing on developing Asia. The project has been working towards advancing multilingual support for ICTs in several targeted developing countries of Asia, developing indigenous human resource for this purpose and promoting relevant policy for sustainability of this effort. After almost a decade long research in local language computing, as the project now comes to an end, the current language computing, as the project now comes to an end, the current “Conference on Policy and Sustainability of Local Language Computing in Developing Asia” is being organized to formalize the research network established through the project and discuss its way forward.

 

Objectives

 

The main objectives of the conference are:

  • To formalize the PAN Localization project Network
  • To develop communication plans for policy influence

  • To present PAN Localization project Impact

  • To strengthen the support network of country components of PAN Localization project and various researchers and experts related to ICT so that it could facilitate localization efforts in Asia.
