The trip most enjoyed by the participants was the two day trip to the northern areas of Pakistan. The group started its journey on 27th July, 2006. Their first stop was at FAST-NU Islamabad.  The participants were warmly welcomed by the Rector, Pro-Rector, Dean and Director  of FAST- NU Islamabad. The Board of Governors of NUCES took special time out to warmly welcome the trainees, and interact with them, enquiring as to their experiences

during the Summer School. The trainees were taken around the new campus of the university. After that the refreshments were served to them. During the tea time the group interacted with the FAST-NU Officials telling them about the progress of the summer school and any problems in the overall execution of the summer course.

Setting off from the Islamabad Campus of NUCES the delegates were taken to Ayubia where a one night stay trip was arranged at a Guesthouse. According to feedback received from the this trip was one of the most memorable excursion trips of their lives.  Although it was arranged for a short time because of the coming Mid-Term exam, still all the participants took part in all activities and enjoyed a lot. During this trip the participants enjoyed chair lift ride,

shopping at the local nearby markets and trekking while it was drizzling at the Ayubia National Park.
