The Madan Puraskar
Pustakalaya (MPP) is the principal archive of books and periodicals
in the nepali language, the mother tongue (or lingua franca) of a
little over 30 million people of South Asia. The Library is a
|
|
|
|
|
not-for profit,
non-governmental
institution that is run by a trust
whose
members are
eminent men and women of letters of
Nepal.
In addition to the archival collection which is at the center of its
focus, the Library is well known for its continuing work in the
areas of publishing, education and training. It also manages two of
Nepal's
most prestigious literary prizes, the Madan Puraskar |

He has an MA
in Sociology from Tribhuvan University, Nepal. He is currently
the director of the Nepali Font Standardization Project
undertaken by Madan Puraskar Pustakalaya (www.mpp.org.np). He
successfully led the first phase of the project which was
unveiled at the Computer Association of |

Nepal (CAN)
INFOTECH on January 2003. Before joining MPP, he was involved as an
e-governance consultant
with Total Management Services (www.tms.com.np).

He has also
worked as system analyst with Infocom Pvt Ltd(www.info.com.np).
Mr. Gurung also volunteers as the coordinator of the Immersion
Course on Contemporary Social Issues (a sixteen weeks social
science course
